What an ECTN-type certificate is
Different destination countries use different names and issuing procedures for electronic cargo tracking documentation. The document is shipment-specific, tied to the bill of lading, and must usually be presented before the goods can be cleared at destination.
Usually linked to the bill of lading, exporter/importer details, freight values and shipment information.
The name, required data and validation timing differ from country to country.
Some destinations impose validation deadlines before sailing, after departure or before arrival.
